But there’s also another reason for this video: you’ve told us that the food you eat is important to you, and you want to know where it comes from and how its processed. In other words, how it gets from us — to you!

Unless you’ve grown up on a farm, most folks don’t have a connection to the food chain—how and where it’s grown, and how it’s produced. In fact, surveys of school kids have revealed that they think milk comes from cartons made in a factory. Cows, farms and farmers are not part of the equation.

It reminds me of the story about the life-long Detroit fellow, tired of the rat race, decided he was going to give up the city life, move Up North, and become a chicken farmer. He bought a nice, used chicken farm and moved in. As it turned out, his next door neighbor was also a chicken farmer. The neighbor came for a visit one day and said, “Chicken farming isn’t easy.
Tell you what. To help you get started, I’ll give you 100 chickens.”

The new chicken farmer was thrilled. Two weeks later the neighbor dropped by to see how things were going. The new farmer said, “Not too well. All 100 chickens died.” The neighbor said, “Oh, I can’t believe that. I’ve never had any trouble with my chickens. I’ll give you 100 more.” Another two weeks went by and the neighbor stopped by again. The new farmer said, “You’re not going to believe this, but the second 100 chickens died too.” Astounded, the neighbor asked, “What went wrong?”

The new farmer said, “Well, I’m not sure whether I’m planting them too deep or too close together.”

So—-back to our new video which is not so much about entertainment as it is education. It’s for visitors to our website, the regulars and newcomers, who are curious about where things come from, or just want to be better informed.

It’s purpose is to promote understanding of the importance of USA grown and processed fruit, and our in-house manufacturing process which utilizes the whole fruit, skins and all. The entire process, from the orchard to finished products, is 100% American. And it reflects the over 50 years of tracks we’ve made in this business, from fruit farming
and research, to now producing the FruitFast family of CherryFlex products.
